I believe there are some things in life that shouldn't be taken too seriously and art happens to be one of them. Most of the artwork I've collected or I've created thus far is bright, full of my favorite colors or is in the form of photography. But to be honest, my walls were telling me they were bored!
So to mix things up a bit I've recently introduced typography art to my collection (such as this What the Fork print for my kitchen) and I quickly came to realize, this is such a fun and often inexpensive way to add character to my walls and let my personality shine through. It also confirmed my belief that art doesn't have to be serious- it can be cheeky, inspirational, romantic and even sarcastic!
If you're anything like me, you cannot get your butt out of bed in the morning. That's why I like the idea of waking up to something pleasant and motivating staring at me every morning. These prints can be like your own little welcoming committee reminding you of your daily affirmations! It's like the "But First, Coffee" print above jumped out of my thoughts and into a frame.
Two of my go-to sites for perusing and buying typography prints are Society6 and Etsy. As I mentioned earlier, these prints are usually very affordable which in my mind leaves more room to spend on the framing! I chose some of my favorites below to share with you. I seriously think the "Seriously" print needs to make an appearance in my apartment.
If you have a personal mantra, saying or favorite movie quote you can easily turn it into art. Play around with Photoshop or ask that graphic design friend of yours for some help, then just print and frame.
Remember, these are your walls, and sometimes, they do talk.
