DESIGN | The Kitchen Chandelier
I'm such a modern-simplistic maven when it comes to light fixtures and accessories around my home but lately more romantic and delicate ones have sparked my interest. Enter the kitchen chandelier. Oh, what I wouldn't give to be able to replace the obnoxious overhead light in our kitchen with something more spectacular.
But since we are in a rental (and I don't think our super will appreciate our handy-dandy electrical work) I'll just have to swoon over the rooms below and put this idea in my back pocket for when we own a place.
It seems like dining rooms get to have all of the fun when it comes to chandeliers, but our kitchens deserve some gorgeous lighting to impress our guests too, after all, it is where everyone seems to gather in the home, right?
Let my boho-heart be still at the idea of these wooden beaded beauties! Such a unique twist on traditional chandelier lighting - airy, eclectic and natural-looking, it's the perfect balance if you ask me.
But speaking of traditional, I still love a dainty crystal chandelier with brass hardware which adds that bit of romance and elegance to a room. I especially love how they look when mixed with modern kitchen elements (hello subway tile!). And the fact that they are off-centered helps to create more visual interest in the room.
And then we have the drama queens - the bold, the bright and the cascading chandeliers. These showstoppers will have everyone looking up by becoming a main focal point in the room allowing the rest of the room to take a break.
So which style do you like best? Do you currently have a chandelier or light fixture in your kitchen that you're proud of? I'd love to see it so don't forget to share with us on Facebook or Instagram by tagging @sundays.arrow.
And if you don't, here are a few of my favorites from the web to get you started. And remember, be sure to always look up!
