As you may have seen on social media, I'm giving our little rental bathroom a face-lift! I figured since it's the smallest room in our place it will be the easiest to re-do and the changes will be most impactful! (so I'm telling myself)
So while I put the finishing touches on the room, I thought I'd share some of the inspiration for my project.
There are some things we don't have the power to change in our bathroom. It has white and gray tiles, a lightly patterned tile floor, gray sink along with chrome faucets and towel bars. All very neutral and all very workable accents. But I will be changing out some hardware, linens and adding some artwork.
I want the room to feel very fresh yet I am also drawn to the drama of dark walls (or ceiling!) in contrast with white. At first I was a bit scared to go too bold on the walls, but after painting it this weekend (check out my color reveal on Instagram!) I could not be happier with the result! A dark color in a small room really can make the room feel more grand and luxe.
I've also always had a thing for patterned tiles. Although we can't add that in this bathroom, I definitely plan on incorporating some pattern in the form of a shower curtain or rug.
So you can see a trend here of blues, grays and greens mixed with fresh white accents and spa-like touches.
Can't wait to share with you my before and after pics and tricks for upgrading your rental! Stay tuned. . .
